Glasgow’s Voice of the Town is recording their first EP

It’s been an exciting summer, and slightly different from the norm, term for Glasgow’s Voice of the Town! In July, they performed on the steps of Royal Concert Hall for the Big Big Sing as part of the Commonwealth Games festivities. And after rocking the Glasgow public with a brilliant performance, lately they have been preparing for going in the Berkeley Studios, Glasgow, to record their first EP.

From Glasgow’s VOTT vast repertoire, they have chosen to record rock and pop classics, but also some songs from famous artists like Sam Smith and Alicia Keys. The band was recorded last week and tomorrow, Saturday September 6th, the choir will head into the studio to lay down some soulful vocal tracks.

For most of the members, it will be their first experience in a recording studio, but MD, Madaleine Pritchard is very confident about the quality of the choir. She feels “very proud of everyone, especially of those who have been with VOTT from the beginning as I know how much the choir means to them and how much they enjoy singing. We have had a lot of great new members join our team including some very talented singers who have discovered a new confidence within themselves and have developed a sense of personal achievement.  With every term afresh the choir grow stronger, work better together and are able to tackle more challenging arrangements.”

Detail on where the EP can be downloaded and purchased will be released soon. But in the meantime, if you would like to catch the latest news, pictures and videos of the recordings, as they happen and after the event, be sure to check our Facebook page!
