Voice of the Town contemporary choirs can be found in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle, where we perform our own versions of songs from a wide range of popular styles, often with a twist, style and a whole lot of soul.
We have been delighted to sing with the likes of Susan Boyle, Britain’s Got Talent 2011 winner Jai McDowall , Karen Dunbar from BBC Scotland’s Chewin’ The Fat while filming for a BBC documentary, and as part of the critically acclaimed play The Events at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In doing so, we’ve given performances at a number of top class venues such as the iconic Sage Gateshead, Newcastle City Hall, the Cottier Theatre and Tron Theatre in Glasgow and the Traverse in Edinburgh. And we’re privileged to be asked to sing at a variety of events including, feature shows, weddings , professional recordings and for charities.
Furthermore, we’ve had brilliant fun as a flash mob helping to reenact a scene from a movie for a marriage proposal and have had the pleasure of being involved in a number of festivals, including The Late Shows and Glasgow Loves Christmas. Go check our What We Do page to see us in action and stop by our News for all our latest happenings. Or why not Like or Follow us on Facebook and Twitter and stay up to date with all things VOTT?
Interested in joining one of our groups? We’re open to men and women aged over 18 years old and whether you’re experienced or just starting out in vocal groups, we’re sure you’ll find our material really fun, interesting and enjoyably challenging. And unlike other choirs, there are no entry auditions and no pressure to read music or sing solo. We simply want to sing and perform great tunes to people as part of a fun, friendly and lively singing group.
